What Makes New Moon Special?

Montessori Method: In our classrooms, the teacher acts as a guide and facilitator, offering lessons and then stepping back to allow the child to choose their work. Once a lesson is introduced, children are free to engage with the materials as often and for as long as they choose, developing both autonomy and confidence.

Hands-on Learning: Our materials are designed to be interactive and self-correcting, enabling children to engage with their work without constant adult intervention. This approach encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Personalized Attention: With a small class size of just 8 children per teacher, we ensure that each child receives the attention they deserve. Our low teacher-to-child ratio allows for meaningful one-on-one interactions and personalized learning experiences that cater to each child's unique needs and interests.

School Year: August through May

Morning Program: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | $450/month

Aftercare: Available from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM | $6.00/hour

Meet Cindy Jones
Founder and Passionate Teacher Committed to Creating Unforgettable Experiences
I’m Cindy Jones, founder of New Moon Learning Environment. With a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia, my background has always influenced my approach to education. After staying home to raise my two children, I became deeply involved in their education, leading me to Athens Montessori School.
There, I worked for 13 years and gained a deep understanding of the Montessori Method, which inspired me to create my own learning environment. I founded New Moon Learning Environment to foster a space where children can explore, think critically, and grow emotionally and intellectually.
What I love most about my work is seeing children’s curiosity spark and confidence grow. I’m dedicated to providing an educational experience that prepares them for both academic success and a purposeful life.
